6y/o Buckskin snowcap grade Appaloosa mare.

She has had some time off due to no fault of her own and will need a confident rider/owner to get back into it!

When she was in regular work (3x/week with daytime group herd turnout) she did lots of trail miles, including beach rides. She packed around my very beginner partner for several hundred trail miles and has been to various group rides and state parks, plus horsemanship clinics.... (read more) She is not bothered by or fussy about seat, hands, etc. but does require a no-nonsense, fair rider as she will test and ignore the timid.

She is green in the ring but has a lovely trot and canter. She had 60 days professional training as a 3 year old and trail ridden consistently for two years with 1x/week ring work but she's been on the back burner this year due to time. She has an opinion but is never sneaky and would be perfect for someone who loves an independent-minded but very sweet mare. She doesn't hold a grudge and isn't at all sensitive.

She ties well, stands for farrier, good for deworming, and is an easy keeper. She doesn't mind being fussed over and braided, brushed, etc. No kick or bite. She's lived in most setups: mixed herds, solo turnout, out 24/7 and stalled at night and gets along well with other horses. She can come with her blankets and gear for a small fee. Delivery available within 50 miles.
