Rasky is a striking, stout and flashy horse with lots of chrome. I bought him as a 3-year-old from the breeder and trained him myself. He is now 8 years old. He is smart and enjoys learning. Rasky is very gentle, loves to be near you and will follow you everywhere. He has excellent bloodlines, has been cross trained in trail riding, obstacle courses, worked on the rail and learned some level 1 dressage. He has attended barefoot trimming and gaited horse clinics.... (read more) He is well mannered on the rail and on the trail with new horses. He has been ridden on many organized trail rides, camped for 4-5 days at a time, and is content in electric pens or stalled. He is attentive to his rider and his surroundings. Rasky is sure footed on rugged and slick terrain having been ridden in the mountains, on the flat and in the arena. You can open and close gates, get mail out of the mailbox, break limbs on the trail, and drag brush, all while mounted, He carries saddle bags and you can put on your rain gear while mounted. He has been exposed to farm equipment, 4 wheelers, traffic, dogs, and nearby gunfire. Rasky stands quietly for mounting, loads and hauls easily, parks out, neck reins, leg yields, turns on the forehand and the haunches, stands nicely for trimming, vetting, deworming, etc. Rascal is ridden in new environments regularly. If he shies, it usually in place. He is barefoot with excellent hooves. We use boots for long rides on rough terrain. I ride Rasky in a bitless bridle, but you can ride him in a snaffle or a short shank gaited bit. He loves to be groomed, clipped and bathed. He is very easy to catch and loves attention. I am selling him only because we just built our dream farm and have lots of projects left to complete. I can barely keep 2 horses ridden, so I am searching for Rascal's new partner. He is a sweet horse and would be a great partner for a confident intermediate rider because of his advanced training. He could really go places with someone interested in Western Dressage, Competitive Trail or similar disciplines. Watch Youtube Video
