Meet The Horse Formally Known as Prince, a 14.2hh Quarter Horse-Haflinger gelding with a heart of gold and a wealth of experience in English and Western disciplines. With his mild-mannered temperament, Prince has been a steady and patient teacher for riders of all levels, making him an ideal partner for beginners starting their riding journey or more advanced riders looking to refine their skills. He is truly worth his weight in gold at shows, loading, traveling, unloading, stalling, and competing without complaint. Has competed in various shows across the state, and regularly takes home a top 5 ribbon in schooling shows and rated events alike. In his younger years, he was a barrel racing horse, and during his time with us he has transformed into the perfect English gentleman. While he once jumped for us, he is now retired from going over fences; however, he still enjoys ground poles and cross-rails. For this reason, we will not sell him to a home that intends to school or compete with him over fences.
We share this history because he originally came to us as a Western lesson horse and quickly adapted to Dressage and Hunter Jumper disciplines which is a true testament to his temperament and eagerness to learn. He is steady and reliable at the walk, trot, and canter, though he can be a bit sticky picking up the left lead canter. Regular chiropractic adjustments have kept this well managed.
At 23 years old, Prince still enjoys his work and is ready to continue helping riders gain confidence in the saddle. He has been a trusted lesson horse, working with both children and adults, and has been the perfect teammate for our daughter as she developed from a beginner rider to a confident equestrian. His easy-going nature makes him a joy to handle on the ground and under saddle. He stands quietly for the farrier, vet, and tacking up. Coggins up to date until April 2026.
