Vet aged at 16yo black GRADE TWH gelding. Stands at 16 hands.

Jose came to us about 4 months ago from a very bad situation. He was starved broken down covered in rain rot with bad feet. Since being here he's put back on almost all his weight still needs a little top line but nothing major. Jose leads loads clips ties baths stands to be saddled and mounted he also parks out to be mounted and will get as low as you need him to go to mount.... (read more) He also stands for the mounting block. Jose is quite levelheaded with way more whoa then go. He's not lazy and will speed up when asked but is just as happy walking around. He's the perfect trail horse for someone needing to build their confidence, lesson camps or your grandma to plod around on the trails. Jose does require regular steel caulked shoes to be in his perfect gait. Jose does neck rein and back but he's a little rusty nothing major will get better the more he's rode. He doesn't require a massive bit he's currently either being rode in a ring bit or a wonder bit depending on who's riding him. For the last 3 weeks Jose has been used by one of my complete beginners for her lessons. He's quiet he's willing he's patient and he's very forgiving of rider error. Never offered to buck rear bite bolt or kick. Mid level in the pasture he's not going to start anything but he's also not going to get picked on either he will stand his ground. He's currently pastured with 3 other geldings and a 6 month old jenny so mare or gelding herd doesn't matter to him. The only down fall I can tell you is he does require a bucket of feed when catching until he gets used to you. But I mean let's be honest most horses are not the easiest to catch.

I've got a lot of money invested in pulling this horse back from where he was when he came here and a lot of vetting and deworming. A no auction no kill pen contract will come with him. He's way to nice of a horse to end up in a bad place and he will make someone a heck of a trail horse.
