Blaze is a five year old gelding standing at a solid 16 hands. If you are looking for your next high end partner in any discipline, this is your guy. With this horse being the sweetest horse in the barn and under saddle, he is extremely willing to please and brave. Keep reading for more!!
Blaze has been restarted under saddle after having a decent racing career with 23 starts. Listen, some of them weren't meant to race and that was this guy, lol.... (read more) With only placing first place 3 times, second once, and third place once, it's clear to say the track was not for him. The racetrack definitely was disappointing as this guy has an impressive pedigree with top stallions including; Uptowncharlybrown, Grand Slam, A.P. Indy, Mr. Prospector, Northern Dancer, Secretariat, and more. He retired sound from the track and was put on the back burner giving him some time to be a horse.
This horse is extremely soft to ride, uphill, and very comfortable. He has been one of my easiest restarts and I say that confidently. He is extremely talented and will only get better and better as his training progresses. He has been lightly started on flatwork, we are working on him to take the bit everyday while making work enjoyable for him as well. He has also offered flying changes (on video) and let me tell you, they are very easy to ride. Yes, he gets a little forward after he swaps but nobody is perfect. Overall, he is an easy ride and ready to find his next partner to continue his training and go up the levels. He also loves working outside of the ring and I have videos of him walking around some trails.
Blaze currently came in a tiny bit under weight but has already gained a significant amount of weight under our care. His coat has gotten shinier and he has been a happier horse. His current diet is 2qts AM/PM of Purina Smart Edge Horse Feed as well as 1qt PinkMash AM/PM. His only supplements are Electrolytes PM and DailyAmino AM. He is also barefoot and has beautiful feet. (They are getting done, do not worry). He seriously is not a hard horse to keep and he gains weight and muscle everyday. He stands for farrier and vet perfectly fine as well. He also trailers amazing and comes off the trailer with little to no care.
Blaze is located on Long Island, NY and is available for trials. He is listed at mid fours starting with a 6. Come by and meet him. Offsite trials are not available. Pre Purchase Exams are welcome and can recommend vets in the area. Help with trailing also available. He just got vaccines and a coggins pulled 07/11/2025 and was dewormed as well.
