Meet Donald! Our 8 year old Dutch/Percheron cross gelding. If you’re looking for a well-built drafty that can do it all and will turn heads wherever you take him, check this guy out!
Donald currently stands at 18 hands and weighs in at about 1300lbs. He is very well mannered on the ground, walks alongside quiet and respectfully. He is broke to ride and drive. More of his history has been spent being driven and he is ridden consistently each week.... (read more) He is a mellow horse to drive, stands to hitch, etc. Under saddle he stands quietly to mount, has his basics down and rides out like an old pro. He walks on a loose rein, is used to light contact at the trot and is typically on the bit at the canter but is not hard mouthed. Currently he is working on transitioning smoothly from trot to the lope. He has been ridden on trails, crossed logs and water without a second glance. Donald is the type of horse who loves consistent work and having a job to do. He does not have any vices and would do best with an intermediate rider or a rider working with a trainer. An extroverted personality and can be playful at times but when he knows it’s time for business he gets right to it. If someone wanted to take him this direction, he could easily and quickly pickup on tricks and obstacles. Loads easily and travels quiet.
