Meet Samwise the brave aka. Sam, a three-year-old halflinger. Sam brings color and joy to our ranch and he is ready to do the same to yours! He has had about 40 rides under saddle English and Western. Sam has hit 3'6" on the poles on the lunge line! And has jumped 1'9 foot with a rider. He would make a great show jumper. He has a good head and works hard to make you happy. He does have a (HEALED) scar on his left hind leg from an accident a while back but it doesn't bother him at all.... (read more)
Sam has also run poles a little bit, and is started on barrels! He has a good turn and is very surefooted. He has had a good bit of neck reign training and is starting to figure out his leg cues. Sam has a lot of 'git up and go' and will work for hours. Sam is very Cady and with some training could make a great cutting horse!
Sam stands for the farrier, stand for a bath, easy to tack up, stands still for mount (on the ground or at the mounting block), he will meet you at the gate every morning ready to go to work. Forgot a halter? No problem! Bring a treat, put an invisible halter on him and you're ready to go.
Can't get on bareback? Don't worry, Sam will lay down on command and save your back. Ride him with a flag, wrap a tarp around him, crack a whip while standing up on him! Nothing phases this guy!!
Not a fan of riding? Sam drives too! He will ride with blinders or without. Isn't phased by traffic, dogs, gun shots, or kids. I wouldn't say he is ready for inexperienced kids riding him yet because he is only three and can be silly and energetic ( like any three-year-old) with a nervous rider. Ready to do anything for you, just needs miles.
Sam has been a joy to train. He learns fast and is very friendly. He could excel at almost any discipline with proper training! Looking for his forever home.
