Nothing Butta Tease (Jenny)
Located in East Hampstead NH 03826
Jenny is a 15.3 3 year old bay qh mare. She has been broke to saddle for about 8 months at the posting of this advertisement. She is an extremely kind mare who bonds deeply with anyone willing to give her attention. She has no fears or vices on the ground. Good for the vet and farrier. Leads quietly on a loose leadrope and stands quietly in crossties or tied to a tree or trailer as long as you want (is still 3 so will sometimes paw if left along for too long but does not try to break ties or pull back)
Jenny is an excellent trail horse - she goes up and down hills, through rocks and roots carefully, through water, over bridges, through brush and low hanging branches.... (read more) She will ride out alone or with others. She has been exposed to cars, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, tractors, dirt-bikes, dogs, power-wheels kids toys, and bicycles and handles them all with a level head.
She rides best in a western saddle FQH bars or a hoop tree english saddle (she is an X-wide gullet in a standard gullet type but its not a perfect fit) we have not yet exposed her to a rear cinch but she has taken everything we have done in stride.
She has experience with lunging and longlining (both behind the bum and above the back) both in an open area and in a roundpen. She knows all the basic commands (whoa, walk, trot, canter, cluck, kiss, reverse, easy, out) She will also ground-drive. As a 3 year old she has occasional moments but responds well to corrections.
In the arena she knows direct steering, moving off of leg pressure and all 3 gaits as well as how to increase and decrease tempo. She has the potential for any discipline but we have not put any speed into her. She has been ridden bareback and in english and western tack. She has a lovely to sit to canter and a smooth flat trot. Jenny has started accepting connection with the bit and will soften her jaw and lengthen her neck when asked. We have popped her over just a few jumps and logs for exposure and she LOVES it (a bit too much at times as green horses can). She is still 3 years old so at times she will have baby moments when trotting or cantering (mostly in the canter). She is being sold as green broke with a good solid starting foundation but will need continued education with an experienced rider or a jr working with a trainer.
