Zig Zag Züm
There is a LOT of information here, please read this description in its entirety to answer 95% of your questions!! Suitable for intermediate rider or above.
“Zumi” is a 2020 14.2h 1200# mare that is registered (half Gypsy). She’s a bay tobiano Gypsy/Quarter Horse cross that I bred and have raised from a foal. She has the sweetest personality, a fantastic quiet mind, and is affectionate but not spoiled or pushy.... (read more) She has a gorgeous head and very thick mane and tail, even a good amount of feather, and has even been mistaken for a purebred Gypsy.
Zumi is currently in foal to a grullo full Gypsy stallion “ES Frodo Baggins”, for a 3/4 Gypsy foal due in April of 2025. Pictures and papers are at end of images. Frodo is a traditional Gypsy cob with huge bone and massive amounts of hair! Both are color tested and foal will likely be a “fancy” color, color test results can be provided on request. Foal should look purebred Gypsy and mature to 14.1/14.2h and also be eligible to register with GRHA.
Live foal guarantee follows to new owner.
She was shown in hand as a 2 year old, and won her division high point at her very first show! She was easy to handle away from home. Zumi is broke to ride but green, she can walk/trot/canter and stop/turn/back. All the basics. She has been around cattle and ridden in the hills, even across rough terrain and water. She trailers, ties, is great for the farrier, good for baths, blanketing and fly sprays - all of the things. Very, very easy to handle on the ground. She has excellent ground manners. Zumi can’t live on pasture, she is an EASY KEEPER and gets too heavy when turned out.
** At this time, she is too sensitive and reactive under saddle to be a good match for a beginner.** Despite being a half bred cold blood, she will need more time either with a trainer or with an experienced rider to make her a solid and quiet mount or family Horse. She has a ton of potential, is a cute mover, would look fabulous with a cart or in English tack. She also seems to enjoy jumping, she will free jump over obstacles in our pasture!
So… “why are you selling her”?
We have an opportunity to purchase a really quiet semi-retired show horse for my son that he adores riding and is better suited to his ability level. I need to sell one of my three horses in order to make this work. So technically, I don’t have to sell her and I won’t sell her unless it is to a perfect home that would be an upgrade from what she has with our family currently. I will be extremely picky about where she goes. She is just the only horse that I don’t ride on a regular basis and I feel like she could be the perfect fit for another person or family that has more time for her, or wants a gorgeous Gypsy foal! She has never been lame, has hard Gypsy feet and should not need shoes. A pre-purchase exam is welcome and encouraged at buyers expense. I will communicate through message or text, but I will not set up an appointment for showing her until I have a phone conversation with an interested buyer. WILL NOT SELL SIGHT UNSEEN.
