He has had a solid career as a ranch horse. He is good to doctor cattle on, sort on, and ship. There’s not a job he hasn’t done and done well. Stuart’s also been heeled on and shown at some weekend horse shows in the showmanship, halter and walk trot classes by our 7- and 9-year-old children! To top it off I promise you that you cannot find a gentler horse anywhere. Stuart is the go-to for the beginners and the novice riders. He’s taught more people to ride than some riding instructors! This horse is the same solid citizen with any amount of time off. He saddles up gentle even on the coldest mornings and is as simple and user friendly as they come. This is a horse when you walk in the barn or pasture you know he’s there. He will nicker and come straight to you, he genuinely loves people and his job. Stuart has also been taught the curbside mount making him easy to mount for any rider. Stuart has a level, easy lead departure and lopes a slow, rocking chair lope either direction. He can jog the slowest, easiest jog or trot out in a ground-covering long trot. Stuart guides around with ease and has stylish spins and a big stop. He is the kind of horse that hunts a stop, and you never have to ask him twice. There is nothing forward or pushy about this horse. Stuart has been in our hands for the last several years and we can guarantee there isn’t a single thing you will not like about him.
