Big Red is a 13 yr old gelding, hes a handsome guy with a sweet nature. Hes easy to catch, no buck, no bite. Hes UTD on everything including deworming, vaccines, feet, and dental is getting done again on 9/01 unless hes gone before then. He stands for farrier and trailers well with a little encouragement.
He would be a great horse for an experienced youth or youth working w a trainer. I've shown him in 4H, he does great in ranch and western riding.... (read more) At home we ride in a big open field, he listens well whether your an adult or a kid, he never tries to run back to the barn or take off. He never feels uncontrollable, great confidence booster or a step up from beginner. Although if u ask him he can be quick and loves to run and run. I mainly used him on barrels, although that was over a year ago and he would need some conditioning to get back on the pattern. He'd do best w a quiet rider. We didn't partner well on the pattern bc i was inexperienced at that point and was in his mouth a little too much. He likes someone to get him to his points and let him get around. Ive also done quit a few lessons on him and hes a great teacher.

I believe he'd do good getting into reining bc he has great spins, and also cow work i think he'd enjoy.
Hes a 3/10 tempermant and just an all around great boy. He gets a long with any horse you put him with, he is well behaved and is a good listener. I can ride him without a bridle, bareback, English or western. I can take him into trail classes, around farm machinery, dogs, goats, etc. I can ride him in big open pastures without him running back toward barn and I can buddy him up with ANY other horse.
