Currently working on solid basics. Hank is a big forward moving horse with excellent work ethic and a bright future. He requires a very experienced rider due to his youth and big movements. Extra time has been taken to allow this talented horse to grow and develop.
Hank has a very sweet personality. He loves to be around people. He has bonded with the owner and the trainer. Will greet you when you arrive and will meet you at the gate. No issues catching Hank. He is eager to engage. At work, he enjoys his job and tries very hard. He is very intelligent.
Cross ties well. Easy to groom and tack up.
Trailers well, alone or with other horses. He has trailered 3 times to the Lower Mainland - 2 trips with other horses and 1 trip alone. Did very well with all the trips. Regularly and consistently-trailered locally - from Summerland to Kelowna, Vernon, and Salmon Arm.
Hank is turned out in a very large paddock. Hank does not have a paddock mate. Given the horse configuration on the property, he is on his own. The paddock has a shelter as well. Hank enjoys his time out in the paddock. He will interact and play with his horse neighbours over the fence. He loves to play. He is also stalled in the barn depending on the weather or if travelling the next day. He does very well in his stall. He is also turned out on pasture. The time out on pasture is time limited and monitored.
Hank's other neighbours are cows. He does well with cows. He especially loves the baby cows who will come to visit him in his paddock.
He does well with dogs and donkeys.
Loves horse cookies and carrots.
Trainers write up:
He leg yields, he has young horse walk pirouettes, rein back, walk shoulder in and traver, turn on the forehand. working on transitions within the gaits to help him.... his is a power house. He is soft in your hand but... I emphasis.... he is not for a timid or inexperienced rider. He is safe etc... but big and forward. An inexperienced rider would end up in a pulling match with lack of knowledge on this horse. Do you know Sandra Verda... she knows this horse, her and I have worked together with him. I also rode with Jody Hartstone from New Zealand... she is a top international dressage rider. She loves him.
