You must know up front that we are looking for a new home because Mira has dust allergies. Our setup only has dry lot with round bales and it is far too dusty to work her regularly to maintain a healthy weight, even with the allergy meds recommended by our vet. Mira can have a dry, occasional cough on high allergen days or when it is dry and dusty. She does great in a grass pasture, but we are not able to give that to her at this time and want to see her go somewhere that she will thrive.... (read more)
-Clydesdale / warmblood cross (Zangersheide)
-NOT for beginners at this time, but otherwise a straightforward ride
-Stocky as heck and can carry most sized riders
-Barefoot with huge, lovely feet but slightly pigeon toed (has had no impact on her performance) can send pictures to those interested
-No known maintenance outside of the allergies and has never taken an off step in the 2+ years we’ve owned her
-Lovely ground manners but inconsistent with loading and does best in a nice open trailer because of her size
-Had one foal and I was told she was a good momma
-Very polite and loves being pampered, but I would not describe her as in your pocket
-Bossy in the herd
Mira will go with a no auction (including internet auction) and right of first refusal contract. We care about this girl deeply and want to stay in touch with future owners so that we don’t lose track of her.
Mira is currently out of shape as her allergies have interfered with a heavier fitness routine and looks like she’s due any day now even though she’s not pregnant!

Mira had some time off last year while I had a baby and was mostly off over the winter. I’ve gotten her going again this spring and she has proven to be absolutely sane as can be after months off. She is 100% a horse that can sit or be ridden inconsistently and be super reasonable about it. Mira can be a bit spooky, but her reactions have been very reasonable (no spinning, bucking, rearing, taking off - mostly just shying away from the scary thing).
Mira is a horse who needs a rider who can ride a big stride in a balanced way. She is a very straightforward ride and definitely ammy friendly, but we learned after she ejected my husband that she does not tolerate a beginner bouncing on her back. That is the only “naughty” thing she has done with us to-date. She is very light and receptive to leg and seat cues, despite her size. She can get heavy in the bridle and on her front end and will need someone who can use bend and leg, and won’t try and get into a pulling match. When she’s fit she tends to be more forward, but has excellent brakes.
Mira was started over fences in 2022 and completed her first cross country clinic at that time. She needs someone who is patient and will let her think through new questions, but once she understands, she’s got it down! I think someone who wants a lower-level hunter would have a blast with her. I also know she’d love to be a momma again and that was our original plan for her.
