16.1h 2020 TB mare sired by Dialed In out of a Not for Love mare. If you’re into that over-stuffed pony look, this girls got it going on. She has a delicate, refined head but just tons of body and shape to her. A really classic looking sort with movement and jump to match. She has been here since retiring from racing late last year, she has been let down and lightly restarted under saddle. She got kicked to the back burner for a while but came out the same after a few weeks off, now having five rides post track.... (read more) Overall, she is confident amateur friendly, she is green but not too complicated to ride. Initially I thought she screamed hunter but as she’s developed and learning how to use herself I’m starting to see her being useful in a number of other disciplines as well. If she’s still here this coming week I plan to take her XC schooling. We have been schooling her walk, trot, canter, she has her lead changes when asked and has been started over fences. She’s putting lines together currently and has seen all of the fillers in my arena, she is overall pretty brave to a fence - granted still figuring out her footwork a little bit. She is a smart mare and quick to correct her mistakes. On the ground, she is a mare. Most days she is quite sweet and easy to work around but some days she thinks she’s HBIC and should be treated like the queen (she believes) she is. This generally manifests in some saltiness leading in / out of the barn. She is easily reminded of her manners with a confident handler and always gets led around in just a cotton rope. Living wise, she is out at night and in during the day. As she’s been here a while we’ve had her in a number of different scenarios herd wise. At first she was out with another mare and did quite well that way, when her friend was placed she was alone for a few months until recently. She really does not like that life, she’s fine leaving her herd mate to come in during the day or go riding but likes company when she’s turned out. I currently have her out with my three year old crossbred and she happily stands at the hay net with her eating. She straight ties, crossties, is good to groom, tack and bathe. She’s not an overly outgoing sort but does like her people and a good scratch on the butt / withers and can quickly be won over with some affection. The type of person that’s going to appreciate this one is going to be a quiet, effective rider that knows how to let a mare do their job and when to help her along. She is becoming quite rideable and has all of the parts to go be a super competitive show horse. She’s hard to miss and a great example of the breed!
She is a cribber, when managed with a correct lifestyle it’s mostly at feed time. In an ideal scenario for her she would have access to turnout with friends at night and be stalled during the day. She is still RRP eligible.
