Trip To Cairo (Pharaoh) is a 16hh 2018 OTTB Gelding. Located in Bryan, TX.
Pharaoh is a solid citizen and a barn favorite who does fine with an irregular schedule (owner is a college student in another city). No buck, rear, or nasty behavior. Currently schooling 3’6” at home with scope for more. He has scored in the 20s in dressage and stays consistently in the low 30s. He won his last event, adding just a little XC time in the muddy conditions to a 33.... (read more) 5 dressage.
Great on hacks and long trail rides. Good on the ground and stands for farrier, trailers well. Same horse on and off property. He does great being in a pasture with geldings or mares. He has incredible kick behind and would also do great in the 1.15m jumpers, maybe higher. He loves his job, has a huge heart, and is a quick learner. He could continue being an event horse for a young rider or adult amateur or be an amazing jumper.
However, he struggles with anhidrosis and our incredibly hot/humid location, he needs a drier climate. He sweats phenomenally up through the 90s however, 108 degree humid TX weather last year was too much. He went to AZ and did two events in July last year, winning the second one. He did terrific in the less humid climate and had no issues with sweating there. Good home is a requirement.
I will be showing Pharaoh in the jumpers May 11-12 at the TRHP/DHJSC Summer Show in Tyler, TX. You can come watch or try him there.
Several of the jumps in the videos above are 3’6”
low 5s starting with a 2.
