9 yo Grey Azteca (Andalusian x QH) Gelding
15.2hh, Grade

Niko is a grade Azteca gelding standing 15.2hh. He was purchased 2 years ago as an untouched project and has since had all of his groundwork done. He is very respectful on the ground and enjoys human connection and attention. Due to personal matters with his owner he has been on the backburner for some time and is ready to find his person.

Niko is a very sensitive and responsive gelding who forms a deep connection with his handler.... (read more) He can be anxious or unsure about new situations, but this is likely to dissolve as he is worked with more consistently. He has had all his groundwork done and has been saddled a few times, but has not been backed. His owner feels he could be ready to be backed with more consistency than she could provide.
Niko lunges and free lunges, loads, and picks up all his feet. He is up to date on farrier, deworming and vaccinations. In a herd setting he is described as middle of the pack in hierarchy.

Niko is still a project and would be best suited to a confident intermediate or experienced handler who can help instill confidence in him to perform what is being asked of him. In his current state he is still unsure and needs consistency. He could go in any direction, though his owner had hopes of developing him in Dressage.
