Additional Comments
I have owned Maverick since birth. He was out of a great mare I had, Ladybug, an "anyone can ride" horse. He was going to be my forever horse but then he grew and grew, now he is too tall for my old 5' 1" body. He is also a slow ride.
He is broke to ride and rode once a week on the trails since August 2023. He has been rode on the Sac County bike trails, in the mountains, on city streets and on the Folsom Lake trails. He has probably 400 miles of riding but will need someone to further his education.... (read more) He is not a finished mount. He crosses bridges and streams and will go into the lake, not overly spooky. Maverick prefers a leisurely trial ride, walking with an occasional slow gait. If you push him faster he will pace as he has not learned how to gaot fast yet. I have only cantered him twice, its a lot of work to push him into a canter. He has a thick build to him and will continue to bulk up as he matures. He will be 4 years old in June. He has huge feet and thick legs. Maverick is a lovable horse, knows his name, comes when called. Has been raised in a pasture environment in a mixed herd. Has ponied a yearling, good with hikers, bikers, dogs and some vehicles. UTD with deworming, vaccines and trims (never been shod). Stands tied, stands to mount, comes over to you for mounting. Trailers great and is good with the farrier. Not a fan but tolerant of fly spray and bathing. I have tons of photos. Located in Auburn, CA. PPE welcome at buyer's expense. TEXT preferred for first contact, limited cell phone service at home. I am planning to make a video soon but at this time I only have small snippets.
