Are you looking for a horse that can pull timber on Wednesday morning and hit the trails in the afternoon? Then meet Maverick!

Mav is a coming 15-year-old spotted saddle horse. What can I say about this handsome boy? He stands about 15.1 or 15.2 and is a TANK. I've often called him my "Apocalypse Horse," due to his ability to seemingly stay fat on air and his willingness to truck through any obstacle in his way.

He was originally purchased to be used as a trail riding horse for my dad, who has decided to retire from riding.... (read more) I showed him at our local saddle club for a few years, and while he tolerated the show pen, he is much happier on the trails.

There are no tricks with this boy - he rides the same no matter how long it has been since his last ride. He loads in a trailer, takes a bit with ease, stands quietly for the farrier, neck reins or plow reins, allows you to mount with or without a stool (and stays still for you to do so). His quirks? He hates being clipped (but will allow you to trim him up with a Bic razor and scissors) and has a lot of get-up-and-go, so he'll need an experienced rider.
