Sugar N Pep (Barn name: Callista) is a beautiful, well-bred, registered 12-year-old paint mare. I purchased this mare from a stockyard in Texas a little over a year ago, so I don’t know her full history. I bought her as a trail and companion horse but despite what I was told at the time of purchase, she is not broke to ride (although she does take the saddle and a hackamore bridle without issue). She can be anxious and nervous but is not mean in any way, however, she needs a person with advanced horsemanship.... (read more) If I was younger and had the means to take on a project horse I would keep her, however, the place where I keep my horses does not have the setup I would need to do so. I believe that she would be perfect for a person who has the time and wants a project horse to develop. It is for these reasons she is being sold strictly as a project horse, pasture companion, or broodmare. She would make a great pasture companion or broodmare for someone looking for a mare with color. She is up-to-date on all vaccinations and has a clean bill of health, loads in a trailer, but needs a patient farrier. The asking price is $2,000 (which is much less than what I have put into her thus far) but will consider a trade for a nice TRAIL-broke gelding or mare.
