This Colt is 1/4 Friesian out of a 1/2 Friesian and 1/2 quarter horse Dam by a Dun Whiz Quarter horse stallion. Making him 3/4 quarter horse of course and 1/4 Friesian. He is athletic and smart with an already beautiful smooth lope and a sweet little natural sliding stop. He was loping short circles around his momma at 2 hours old! He is confirmationally what I would call perfect with his short back and neck and his perfectly straight legs. He has the slight arched neck and large bones and long legs of a Friesian along with the natural born wavy thick tail.... (read more) I expect his name to come in much the same. That combined with the giant hip and sweet baby doll head of a quarter horse, makes him a sure fire stunner!! He has more smarts than any foal I’ve raised and a personality that won’t quit!
He’ll come either registered with the Friesian heritage horse association, already named, or I can provide you with all the paperwork to register and name him whatever you choose. Right now I’ve named him Augustus McCrae because of his witt, but I call him GusGus, due to his sweet, gentle and willingness to learn personality.
His grand dam is a buckskin mare by Jessie Tivio who is owned by a local Oklahoma friend of mine, and his grand sire is the great Baroque Friesian stallion, Avond, from biscuit boy stables in Lincoln Maine.
He was born 3/1/2024 and will be available sometime this summer around mid July or early august after weaning him.
Just to add, I own his mother, her full brother and I am friends with him their dams owner here in Oklahoma. I just want to say that of all of the offspring of Avond and the Jessie Tivio mare, we have had solid, consistent, beauty and brains in these crosses and now I’ve added the quarter horse side with reining blood of the great stallion, called A Dun whiz. You can’t and won’t go wrong with this beautiful moving young Colt.
Take him early and raise him as you wish to achieve THE VERY BEST in SHOW in sooo many different classes!! Reining, sorting, mounted shooting, and even dressage. I expect him to mature at somewhere between 15.1 and 15.3 HH.
Contact owned for pricing and offers. He will be up for bid closer to sale date.
