UC Commander, “Manny” is a 2-year-old, 14.1hh, chestnut Morgan gelding, expected to mature to approximately 14.3hh. Manny is by UC Domination (UC Doc Daniels x UC Aria) out of Friend Charity Rose (LWM Mannie B x TSL Steel Magnolias). (read more) Friend Charity Rose has produced several foals that have become great driving, hunter, dressage, and western horses with success in the IHSA and IDA show programs. His sire, UC Domination (son of UC Doc Daniels), is known for his trainability and versatility in different disciplines, which he passes down to his foals. He has competed in the Massachusetts Morgan Show and New England Morgan Regional in 2015 in the Morgan Classic Pleasure, Morgan Carriage Driving, and Morgan Road Hack Divisions. Manny is very much an “in your pocket” type horse. He stands to be groomed, for the vet and farrier, and lunges at the walk and trot. He has been introduced to various obstacles with ease including water, flower boxes, tarps, and hand walking on trails. His training continues progress with tying, loading into the trailer, and being clipped and bathed. Due to his correct sport-type conformation, good bone and trainability, Manny could be taken in any direction but would make a great all-around horse.

University of Connecticut Department of Animal Sci

The University of Connecticut offers a four-year Animal Science degree with an Equine Science area of interest. The program is flexible, offering both a broad liberal education, involving a choice of several electives, combined with the option of individual development. A two-year program is available through the Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture in which courses cover the more practical aspects of Animal Science....
