UC Abigail Rose, "Abby" is a 5 year old 14.3hh Morgan mare by UVM Abington (UVM Promis X UVM Night Star) and out of UC Holiday Rose (Rosevalle Lego x UC Holiday Pride). Holiday Rose was started in the UConn riding program and showed promise in the hunter ring, but unfortunately was injured.... (read more) Although Holiday Rose could not continue her show career, she has made a wonderful broodmare due to her correct confirmation and fantastic pedigree. Abby’s maternal grand sire, Rosevalle Leggo, has a very extensive show record, excelling in sport horse classes, and dressage through third level. Her sire, UVM Abington has shown success in park and driving classing with multiple top placings. Abby has three solid gates, has begun to understand contact and come into the bridle. She has a steady trot, and comfortable smooth canter. She has also been started over small fences and gone through a jumping shoot where she has shown a beautiful jump with plenty of scope. Abby is very sweet and easy to handle on the ground. She ties, loads, stands for the vet and farrier and has been introduced to clippers. Abby’s calm demeanor and trainability make her suitable for an amateur or child in a consistent program with a trainer. Abby could go in any direction, but shows promise in dressage, hunters, jumpers, or driving.
