Marley is 4-years old, I've owned him for the past year and a half, and I started riding him about 3 months ago, 2 to 3 times per week. His longetst ride so far has been an hour and a half. He is going to be a lovely trail horse, though he is still green. New owner should have experience working with young horses, or work with a trainer. He is not a bucker.
Marley will go out alone or in a group. He's level-headed. If anything on the trail startles him, he calms quickly and doesn't do anything stupid.... (read more) He has the classic smooth 4-beat TWH gait (no pacing) and a nice canter. He's currently learning neck reining.
Though he is not papered, his age was determined by equine dental exam to be 2.5 years when I bought him, so coming 4 years old this May/June.
String measure shows him to be 15.1 hands, but he will be somewhat taller once he's done growing. He's been barefoot while I've owned him, shod previously. Feet are healthy.
Marley comes to me in the pasture, stands in cross ties, is good for the farrier and vet, stands for saddling, mounting/dismounting, and willingly takes the bit. He has easily loaded on trailers in the past, though it has been several months since we had a trailer with which to practice. Currently having problems with my phone sending videos. I will try to find a way around that. Meanwhile, consider coming out to try him out.
Marley has a health maintenance requirement which I will discuss with potential buyers. I have all his vet records for the past 18 months that I"ve had him.
Due to family circumstances my husband and I have to sell and no longer be horse owners. I'm hoping to find just the right home for this sweet boy. Asking $4500, but willing to go lower for an excellent home.
