Additional Comments
Ginger is a sweet chestnut 13hh halflinger cross-type pony. She is 12-ish (vet confirmed), an easy keeper, and sound. My children crawl under her, jump on her back; she has never threatened to kick or bite and she is not mareish. We bought her as a western roping, cow pony type, but since buying her my daughter has ridden her English and has recently started to jump her, and she has never refused. We are only selling her because my daughter has grown 5 inches in 6 months and has sadly outgrown her.... (read more) She is a kids pony on the ground but will need a more intermediate/experienced rider, as she can test, throwing her head forward and ripping the reigns out of your hands as she is strong, more go than whoa, and needs lots of half-halting to slow her down. The only negatives I have seen with her- she has a partially blind left eye (we bought her this way) that doesn't seem to bother her. She is low in the herd but we currently have a filly and a mini, and she is top of the herd but seems anxious in this position. I think she would do best with geldings or with a more dominant mare. My daughter has gained so much confidence on Ginger but was inexperienced when we bought her, so it's possible she's taught her some bad habits. She is a lovely pony and needs another kid to love on her like mine did.
