Jónatan is a striking blue dun gelding that has just recently returned to Taktur in December 2023. We first came to know him when he arrived for training with us a couple of years ago. Jónatan is 11 years old, however we still consider him relatively green due to some long breaks in his training regimen. In his time with us, he has continued to make strides in his education. Jònatan contains an impressive pedigree, sure to catch the attention of competitive riders. His first-prize sire, Tangó frá Strandarhöfði received an 8.5 for tölt, 9 for spirit and an impressive 9.5 for pace. This stallion also competed in World Ranking Events in T1, Five-Gait, Speed Pass, and Pace Test. His Dam, Gáta von Birkenlund can be traced back to Honor Prize stallion Ófeigur frá Flugumýri on both sides of her pedigree tree. Ófeigur received 9 for tölt and 8.5 for pace in his evaluations.

Within his current training, Jónatan is already demonstrating a strong tendency towards tölt and pace. He continues to grow in his strength and abilities each week. We would love to find Jónatan a partner who can continue to help him grow into a confident, successful riding partner.
