BlackJack aka “Jack” is a gorgeous 2016 Jet Black Quarter Horse grade gelding. Standing at 14.1 hh, Jack has a big personality, sweet disposition, and willing attitude. He is easy to be around, has excellent ground manners, and has a Natural Horsemanship foundation with sensory training. Jack is ranch raised and is accustomed to all aspects of ranch work, including saddling and riding out to gather cattle, separate pairs, work the gate, sort pens, brand and doctor, feed lot work, load trucks, and some overnight gathering trips/horse camping.... (read more) He is quiet around cattle and is easy to rope off of in the branding pen.
BlackJack is sure-footed, has an easy handle, goes out alone or in a group, rides by traffic, tractors, dogs, bikes, kids, and overall, is not a spooky horse. He walks out nicely and goes through water, is good in new places, and is a “get on and go” type of horse.
In the arena, he w/t/c with ease, is soft in the face, neck reins, side pass, moves off of leg pressure, open/close gates, and is smooth gaited. Jack has an awesome slide stop, spin, and smooth lead departures. He would make a great Western Dressage, Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail, Heeling, Breakaway, and all around show horse.
Jack is great in and out of the arena and will be great for someone who enjoys all types of trails, trail trials, camping, clinics, arena work, and all around great friend to hang with. Jack LOVES attention and is great at stretching for treats, hanging out eating grass with you, or take for a swim/play in the hose. Jack stands tied quietly, loads and hauls great, is easy to catch, is excellent for the farrier, loves grooming and baths, loads and hauls with no issues, and is an easy keeper. Jack has a new set of shoes (can go barefoot), is UTD on vaccinations, deworming, and is current on dental. He is healthy and sound, with no bad habits or concerns, and is ready for his new home.
