Poppi is a 16.2hh 2019 OTTB mare. After some down time to learn about life as a horse, Poppi has been restarted slowly and correctly since leaving the track in July 2023. She raced only 12 times and retired sound. Her pedigree is filled with names known for producing great second career sporthorses. Nice mover, fancy enough for a pro but quiet enough for an ambitious junior or AA! Very sweet and in your pocket! Not marish at all, even in season. This lady has changed my long-held opinion on mares!... (read more) She's definitely one of the good ones that are so hard to find! She always tries her hardest and has quickly caught on to everything we've thrown at her. Even when she’s not sure what’s being asked, she’s never put a toe out of line. Not to mention she's gorgeous - pics do not do her justice! She’s known as the “super model” of the barn! Poppi has handled 2' courses with ease, but we've focused her training mostly on the flat. Changes are almost always automatic. She could go in any direction, even Hunters. She is happy living inside or out. Good for farrier, bathing, etc. No vices and does not act her age (except in the pasture! lol) No spook, bolt, rear. In one of her first few rides, the arena was being painted by a big truck with a loud sprayer on it, and she didn't bat an eye - video available ;) I really can't say enough good things about this mare! Poppi will start showing this Spring. Price will increase with miles.
