Ranger is an unregistered grulla ranch gelding. We do know his sire's blood lines but not his dam's. He gets mainly used for herding cows, checking fence, and trail rides. He has had a rope swung on him, a flag packed on him, and has been shot around but never have tried to shoot while riding him. A few years ago, I took him to rodeo flag drill team practice and he did great, but I ended up not needing to use him. With work in any field, I think he would do well as any time I have tried something new with him he was quick to catch on.... (read more) He is easy to catch and easy to keep. He loads in a trailer well, stands tied and to be saddled. He has been ridden by both men and women. He is strong and big boned; Ranger has strong feet and normally runs barefoot but has had shoes put on. He loves to herd cows and will plow through any brush to herd them. I have jumped him a few times just for fun. Out of all our horses I would say Ranger has the smoothest gait and his trot is like sitting in a rocking chair. Pictures and video at request. Thank you.
