Ava is a 12hh, 21yo drafty pony. This girl is SAFE. She would make an excellent addition to a lesson program or a child’s first pony. She has no spook, buck, or rear. She goes around nicely in an arena, loves to trail ride, pops over crossrails/poles, and has no real vices. She trail rides alone or in groups. She is as forward as she’s asked to be in the arena or on trails, and isn’t sulky at all.
Ava would be happy doing long line lessons with a child very new to riding, or to canter and hop crossrails with a more confident rider.... (read more) She is totally content either way! Not lazy at all, but in typical pony fashion she doesn’t mind an easy job.
Ava is as low maintenance as they come. Barefoot, requires a grazing muzzle in summer to keep her a good weight, and gets along with the mares she’s turned out with. In the six years we’ve owned her she has not had any serious vet issues or lameness.
Ava can also pull a cart.
