This is a cute, shapey mare with a nice smooth striding walk and trot to her. She has seen a lot of miles in the mountains of northern Arizona on a dude ranch string. She rides out alone or with other horses, but for the most part is the kind that likes to follow along. She has impeccable ground manners, stands like a stone for you to mount and dismount, and is overall a pretty quiet mare.... (read more) Easy keeper and stays fat off air!

While Katniss excels on the trails - she needs more development in the arena. If someone wanted to take her as a project to soften her cues and lope pretty circles she’d make a good one. I have video of how she rides in the arena at a lope - she doesn’t like to hold her lead in the hind end, gets to having a bit of a motor, and what feels like slight gate sourness. With the right rider I think this issue could be addressed & solved quickly.

I do not have any info regarding reproductive health, but my guess is she could probably suit as a recip mare too.

Only blemish I could find is what looks like a scar across her left front foot. Owners said she has never been lame, and don’t know its history. Will send pic to those interested.

To recap:
- Would make a nice addition as an easy trail horse or guest horse, OR -

- Would make a nice project for someone to finish out as whatever you want, OR -

- Inspect for use as a recip

✖️ Not recommended for complete beginners, as she can have a bit of a motor and while I can easily correct her, I feel a total beginner could get taken advantage of.
