4yr grade bay (oddly was a buckskin last summer?) gelding 15.2hhs “Don Don” is appropriately named for his goofy, literal get inside your pocket personality and his leisurely cartoony look on his face. Although Don Don is quite the comedian hoot and then sometimes looks at me around the corner of the barn like he’d eat me because FOOD-IS-LIFE, he really is as gentle as they come.... (read more) The ole Don Don is in no hurry to get anywhere, has already traveled and seen miles and miles of trails in all different kinds of terrain and acts like he’s been there done that. He rides in a war briddle great (he actually prefers one, there’s not a written law that you have to put metal in a horses mouth, right?). No buck/rear, run off, spook, bite or kick, doesn't get fresh with time off, and with a little encouragement will walk/trot/lope pretty circles. Ties (unties himself), bathes, loads, doesn’t have the hardest feet so shoes are preferred per Don Don. I usually never say this with a young horse, but beginner safe for trails. He’s been my go-to for slapping on a beginner and hitting the trails, his most recent “victim” never picked up the reins on our 4hr ride as Don Don did what he does best; put his head down on the trail and automatic stopped/turned when everyone else did. Trail riding is a very serious job to Don Don and he does it well, even a little know it all ish. He will ride out by himself, too. Only vice, he is a slight hard keeper and very much enthusiastic about eating, he gets demanding at feeding time so must get scolded for having a nasty look on his face for being impatient before he’s allowed to eat! ( Before blessing me with his presence, he had a short job at a kids trail camp, but was kicked out after his expressional chucky-like face scared the kids when they tried to feed him..) Located in Florence, tx and currently being used for a beginner horse on guided trail rides all across Texas! Pictures and videos to interested parties
( A for sale ad for Don Don has to have some humor in it before you meet him, when you do it’ll all tie in together, he truly is one of a kind and a special boi)
