Iridessa is extraordinary! Her disposition is what everyone wants and needs to feel comfortable and safe no matter where the ride may take place. She stays calm and collected no matter where you ride or the commotion. She's been around gunfire, traffic, trains, 4-wheelers, side-by-sides, lawnmowers, and everything else you'd see in a small town.... (read more) Nothing spooks this mare; she is fearless! Her personality is of a true angel, and she always wants to give you her big heart. She is very respectful and isn't mare-ish at all, which we love about her. She will follow her rider to the ends of the earth like a puppy dog without question. She stops walking when you stop, she stays right by your side, she's very loyal in every aspect. Every morning, she will meet you at the gate neighing for her breakfast and will do the same at dinner time. She will even give you kisses. She loves to be social, loves hugs, and gets along well with dogs, other horses, and even cats. She will get along with any animal. She wants to be everybody's friend and be happy. She has been ridden western and is beginner-safe. She can also be ridden bareback! Iridessa is definitely more whoa-than-go and easy to handle for anyone. She is soft in the mouth and neck reins, responds to leg pressure and side passes, and has a nice stop and reverse. She moves when you ask and only then. She stands respectfully for saddling, mounting, and dismounting with or without a stepstool. She stands tied patiently and is easy to brush and bathe. She is excellent for the farrier, and asking her to step in or out of a trailer is a piece of cake.Iridessa is as sure-footed as they come. We have ridden Iridessa on many trails, and I mean many. In groups, she will be a good leader or follow like a good girl in the back. She is good with wildlife on the trail and has seen deer, foxes, and coyotes. We've crossed ponds, creeks, ditches, rocks, bridges, you name it. She's been ridden on ranches to help gather cattle and has been a big help when we needed to doctor calves. We have roped off her, and she will drag anything. Iridessa is reliable and has spent long days gathering cattle. She is a great travel partner.She has been quite the attention grabber in our small town; strangers, whether adults or children, all love Iridessa so much. We get many compliments on how calm and sweet she is. We trust Iridessa so much we let any child who falls in love with her sit on her and take her for a ride. She's been a great babysitter, as seen in her videos. Adults and children of all ages have ridden her and have had a blast! She truly is a pleasure to ride and be around! Iridessa knows the barrel and pole patterns, and we have enjoyed many playdays with her. She is also amazing with mounted shooting, archery, and carrying the flag! Whoever is lucky enough to have her will undoubtedly enjoy her for a lifetime!
