6-year-old chestnut OTTB gelding, 16 hands. Born May 6, 2017. Jockey Club name is Solar Torque. He was race-trained but never actually raced.

Torque is a 6-year-old sweetheart OTTB. Due to his owner having some time restraints and college approaching in the next year, Torque is in search of a new person to call his own. He was been backed under saddle and was consistently schooled throughout the spring and summer. He does still need some more schooling as he is still green.... (read more) I feel this horse has an amazing potential to go in almost any direction. I think he would be best suited for a hunter/jumper or barrel racing life (or a mix of both!). He is currently barefoot and I feel he could stay that way depending on what he goes into. For his first year off the track, he got plenty of downtime and was more of just a trail horse. This year, he began some hunter/jumper training and jumped 2'6 with scope for more once he is properly muscled. He has had a beginner on him (ONLY walk/trot) but he would be better suited to a good riding junior or ammy looking for a fun project as he is a more forward ride. He will throw some small "bucks" and crow hops if he has been out of work for a while (nothing unrideable just need a good seat). He has been ridden both English and Western. He does have two old bowed tendons but they are both cold and set. He was cleared for full work and has no real limitations (minus racing). He would be great for someone looking for a good horse on a budget.
