Meet Cante, one of our earliest rescues, estimated to be around 5 years old, and displaying the characteristics of a Paso Fino. He has come a long way since his arrival. Initially an unhandled stallion, with time and consistent care, he has blossomed into the confident herd leader. Cante has a captivating presence, effortlessly charming all the ladies and keeping everyone on their toes. He knows he's a true stunner. On the ground, Cante boasts a solid foundation, being halter broke and excelling in tying, grooming, standing for the farrier, and lunging.... With his endearing qualities, Cante would make an excellent choice as a fancy pony for children or a beloved family horse.

Driftwood Horse Resuce

Horsemanship to us is a conversation, however nuanced, between horse and human. We believe that every horse, no matter their background or their "behavior" deserves the right environment, nutrition, and attention. ​ Many of our horses are rescued directly from kill pens, feedlots, and low-end auctions. When our rescues come to us they are first quarantined and treated for any immediate illness and injuries.... (read more) Most of them are malnourished and need time with food and supplements to gain weight. After they have regained their strength and weight and have recovered their health, they then have access to unlimited pasture life as well the the opportunity to attend school at our sister training program to gain vital skills in order to find a forever home.
