Ruger is a very good looking bay roan gelding that is well broke for anyone to ride. He has been ridden in the Houston Rodeo Trail ride, parade, and grand entry carrying a flag. He has also been ridden on the trails, pushed cattle at ropings and into trailers. He rides with a loose one hand neck rein and has a good backup, stop. He carries himself very well. Ruger has no problem opening/closing gates, carrying a flag, he is traffic safe, will walk down streams, over fallen trees, he is used to heavy equipment and their sounds, we have a construction company next door and he is used to all their heavy equipment (i.e. dump trucks, semi's, lawnmowers, track hoes, etc.) He has no problem walking up/down steep ditches and ravines, he will go anywhere you point him, thru thick brush, in the woods with no spook. He will ride the same way every time you ride him whether it be once a week, once a month, or once a year.
He stands still for being saddled/bridled, clipped, groomed, being sprayed for flies, putting on a fly mask, picking his feet, being mounted (from the ground or a mounting block), the vet/farrier, while standing tied, he loads well and hauls well. He is easy to catch, is gentle, and has great ground manners. He is kid and dog friendly and gets along with all of our other horses (mares and geldings alike).
Ruger would be a great prospect for; ranch sorting team, team penning, drill team, goat tying, playdays, polo, barrels, poles, grand entry, parades, pony horse, trail riding contests, queens contests, western pleasure, walk-trot, lead line, 4H/FFA, or as a lesson horse.
Ruger is a handsome, bay roan gelding standing 14.2hh with four white ankle socks, a gray mane, and a rabicano skunk tail. He a beautiful face with a kind eye, good conformations, a strong thick neck, nice withers, a straight back, a wide chest, and hip. He is the perfect size for easier mounting. He has a good mind and learns quickly and has a good disposition, is smart enough to learn any type of job.
