Edie is an 18hh rescued Belgian mare approx 20-25 years old. She has passed our basic skills evaluation but needs weight before she is rideable. *Adoption application required*

Edie is starting to blossom here, and moves well for a girl with Heaves. She regularly inspects visitors for snacks before moving on. She prefers to spend hot days in her run in shelter, and has no problem protecting her resources from other horses. Has some pep in her step despite her breathing issues!... (read more)

She leads, loads, stands for grooming and vet/farrier. Hoof picking is a 2 person job right now but not difficult.

Utd on coggins, dental, vaccines and farrier. Her adoption fee simply covers her intake costs, any potential homes should account for extra feed costs given her size. ($10+ per day depending on grass/hay)

Edie has NOT been evaluated for riding due to the amount of weight she still needs gain. With medication to manage her Heaves she could do Walk and possibly Trot rides. She has passed our Basic Skills evaluation.

Edie would be a good candidate for therapy work.
