Pops is a 14 year old AQHA registered gelding that stands 16.0HH that is the sweetest baby sitter on my property. Pops is the type of gelding you just know you and your kids are safe with. From the ground to on his back, he is just gentle, safe and more woah than go. Pops came from a family that rode him all over in the parades, carried the flags in the grand entry and discovered their love for horses. Pops is royal bred to be a race or barrel horse, but in his heart he prefers slow easy and out on the trails!... (read more) He has been ridden in the arena, and playdayed on but prefers to stay outside of the arena and on the trails. Which we plan to sell him to a trail riding home only.
Out on the trails, Pops is a well-oiled machine. He goes anywhere you point him, through the water, over longs and all types of terrain and obstacles. He is very broke, neck reins, and gives to leg pressure. Pops would be perfect for a camp, riding program or a family looking for a reliable horse to ride around the ranch, down the trails and everything in between. Pops will stand like a statue to get on.
Back at the barn, Pops is a barn favorite. We literally let him roam around the property because he is so easy to have around. He stands like a gentleman for all the task, the vet and the farrier. He loves attention and would be so happy with kids crawling under him, putting bows and ribbons in his mane and tail. He meets you at the gate every morning, gets along well with other horses and has no vices.
