We have had "Aurora" in our program the last 6 months, and during that time she has become a barn favorite. She is ready to become someone's once in a lifetime horse. Previously to us acquiring her, she was well trained to ride and drive, had been in traffic, on trail rides and on wagon trains. She rides in English or Western tack. We have furthered her education by adding dressage training to her resume, and she has taken to it very well.... (read more) She is nice and sensitive, but can be ridden by a variety of riders, without fear of pushing the wrong buttons. She leg yields, knows shoulder in, and is started in haunches in. She is also pretty solid doing simple changes in either direction. She has smooth gaits, and is an absolute pleasure to ride. You can walk, trot, and canter her with contact, or on a loose rein. She is a willing worker that does not have to be constantly kicked, but also not too forward. With further training, she will be able to take her rider to the upper levels in dressage, should they wish to pursue that dream. We have also bounced her over low jumps, and Jumping could definitely be in her future, and she is brave enough to do eventing. Opening and closing gates on her back is no problem.
We have also taken her on a 3 day family camping trip, where she went trail riding, crossed creeks, stood at the tie lines, and got along with the other horses with no fuss. She has carried our 8 year old daughter safely down the trail on an organized ride with over 580 riders. She is fine if she is not immediately behind another horse, and just continues walking calmly. She loads, clips, and bathes well, and stands for the farrier. She currently is wearing shoes due to being ridden on pavement occasionally.
She can be Watch Youtube Video one person alone, and is very easy to drive. We have had her on the road and in traffic in harness too. She has never taken a lame step for us, and has had her teeth done by an equine dentist. She comes with 100 pounds of Tribute to help ease her into her new home. She is currently being turned out at night, and brought in during the day. Feel free to reach out to us for more info.
