Easter Pride - 16.1 6yo TB mare by Western Pride.
I'm very impressed with Easter today. She continues to relax into off the track life and feel better through her body/feet. She showed that today with eager, brave jumping. Easter has a fantastic canter and quickly determined that jumping out of it is far easier then out of the trot. It's sort of a fine line for me as the rider. I want to encourage them to come in the canter once theyre jumping confidently out of the trot but I also don't want to hurry them along faster then their brain or straightness can handle.... (read more) I sort of pressed to stay in the canter out of the corner a few times and she dropped back to a trot still, which was fine, I'm not going to rush her back into an unbalanced canter. That's not going to feel positive for her. After a few times she just clicked in and decided to keep coming out of the corner and then it was right there. Not every distance is going to be great when you first start cantering, they don't have any concept of adjustability yet but it was positive and confident which is all that matters at this stage of the game, so that was a long winded explaination for why I'm thrilled with her lol She's going to be a fun one to keep developing. She's super easy and consistent in the contact with a nice uphill feel. She's also gaining weight and muscle like no one's business and taking up the leg in such a nice way. Easter has a pulse. She's what I consider a very easy restart but she's not a robot, she is in fact alive and will have the occassional scoot when she's excited about life. This falls completely in the realm of normal!
Easter has no vices or injuries. She is very easy to handle in and around the barn. You can find many more details, pix and video at visit our website
