Hot August Storm
“Rain” is a 5 year old mare by Python and out of a Slewdledo mare standing at 16.3 hands.
Rain has come to show just how sweet, laid back, and easy going she is in just the few weeks she’s been here since retiring from the track. Her sire Python is by my absolute favorite sire Empire Maker making her an easy buy on my end. Empire Maker babies are solid minded, have good bone, easy going temperaments, and athletic horses, Rain is no different.... (read more)
Rain ran enough times to make some money for her connections, but not enough to prove that she wanted to stay on the track. She has three nice lofty gaits that as she continues to learn how to use her body more correctly will only get more dreamy.
Rain has been ridden only a handful of times since coming to the farm and has proven that she’s the type to pickup where she leaves off. She has not yet been started over fences and will only do so if she’s here long enough to get a solid foundation on the flat to make jumps an easy and fun thing for her. For now her rides focus on soft, forward into the bridle, moving her ribcage, and engaging her hind end.
Rain is the type of horse who isn’t easily worried about things going on around her and will make a perfect mount for an amateur rider with a trainer. She needs some groceries yet, but that comes with time and correct riding. For now she is eating everything given to her and enjoying the easier lifestyle than what she had at the track. I have video from her first post track ride and free lunge video. She is up to date on all shots, coggins, and deworming.

I have worked with Thoroughbreds for many years. From helping with a small breeding program, to starting yearlings for the track, to rehabbing layups, to restarting recently retired horses. They are my pride and joy and have recently honed my focus on the buying, restarting, and selling of them.
