Randy is a super sweet gentle giant looking for a place to spend the rest of his life. He has great ground manners and will W/T under saddle, as well as drive. Great on the trails as a leader or follower, has no spook, buck, rear, bite, or kick in him, and will go through any trail you point him at. Currently trail/road ridden 1-2 times a month. He's an old fella who just prefers to go at his own pace most days, but occasionally perks up to lead the pack!... (read more) He's a bomb-proof boy who has seen it all in his lifetime. We picked him up in hopes that we would soon be moving to a home with a larger pasture, but our plans fell through and we are now forced to board him. We are short on time and money and aren't able to give him the life he deserves.
We rescued this young guy from a bad situation in NC last fall. He came to us with a mass on his neck and was underweight and with some minor cuts and bruises from the bullies he was pastured with. Since then he has put on some weight, grown back all his hair, has had his teeth done, and is looking and feeling much better! He still has the mass on his neck, however the vet said it is a common mass found in older drafts and he is perfectly happy and healthy - comes with vet check. Because of his age, I wouldn't feel comfortable sending him somewhere where he will be ridden into the dirt. He would be good for light trail riding or road riding, or even for W/T 4-H. He is a sweet old fella and is looking for someone to give him the time he deserves. We picked him up for $2,500 just to get him out of a bad situation, and am not looking to make my money back. Simply looking to find him a home where he will be loved and given a job. The price is $500 obo to be sure he goes to the right home. We would prefer to keep him with the other horse we rescued him with - a 5-year-old Palomino gelding named Tucker who rides W/T/C. He's in great shape looking and for someone to give him the time he deserves. If they go to the same home, we will send them with all of the hay in our barn - roughly $1,000 worth of hay.
