"Hick" is 6 year old AQHA son of Playboy Boonsmal, who won over $157k in the cutting as a cross of two greats: Peptoboonsmal and Freckles Playboy.

His dam is an earner of almost $30k herself, and is an own daughter of the infamous Docs Hickory.... (read more) He is far more than just your average "cowbred" gelding with that set of papers!

We purchased this guy being told he was a started cutter, who was turned out for 2 years on accident with the broodmares and forgotten about. He is dang sure bred the part for that story to be a reality. We fed him back fat, and got to riding him.

This guy does not have any of the fancy buttons or flare you'd expect a "once" up and coming show horse to have unfortunately, but he is GENTLE and WILLING, and bred to have some cow sense. I guess anyone can make something out of a horse with those qualities.

This gelding will point and shoot around the property on our trails, through water, and down our driveway. He does ride in the arena, walk, trot, lope, stop, back. We have done all the "funny" things on him and he doesn't bat an eye. He is no buck, no funny business, just "plain jane". He is truly what I'd consider a clean slate, no surprises prospect for the right person. He just needs the buttons added, and a job to chase. When I begin to type out what he is, I realize it is probably what I always get calls for.

We bought this guy in hopes he'd refresh right up and have the curb appeal for our"specialty" sales, but he just doesn't have enough fancy buttons to be ready in time.
