Cody

7yr old 14hh Black Gelding

Cody is an awesome trail horse and would be best suited for intermediate and advanced riders. Has a lot of go (very forward), loves to be ridden constantly and has no problem putting on 10+ miles per ride. Has a comfortable w/t/c although his right lead could use some work if you are looking to fine tune him in the arena more. I have a neurological condition that makes my one leg not as responsive.... (read more) For this reason he isn’t as finely finished on his right lead compared to his left. Stands next to a mounting block, stump or rock for me to get on as my neurological condition makes it harder to mount even him at 14hh. Rides currently in a S-hack.

He will ride out alone or with other horses. He lives with other geldings and primarily rides with geldings but has ridden with mares and had no issues. He will lead or follow and also goes through water. Haven’t done a ton of road riding but he has encountered a few trucks and UTV’s on the trails and they didn’t bother him. Trailers well in our 2 horse straight load with a ramp.

He’s great for the vet and farrier. Stands tied all day. Very easy to handle and is super respectful on the ground. Has solid hooves and is barefoot. Has never been sick. Is up-to-date with vaccinations, farrier and deworming. Had his teeth floated this April 2023. Stands to be fly sprayed with or without a halter. Is also good to be bathed or hosed down. Very respectful of our electric fencing.

Cody is looking for his own person. I feel I have a better connection with my other two geldings and I really don’t need 3 personal horses. I’ve owned Cody since September 2017. I’ve been Cody’s primary rider since he was started under saddle as a 5yr old. Recently my 60+ year old mother has ridden him numerous times and within the last week my husband has started riding him has well. He has had no problems with having new riders on him.

Known parentage on Cody is his Dam is a QH but his Sire is unknown.
