"SB" is a 6 year old quarter horse gelding that is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. But please, oh PLEASE read in full. This is NOT one I will take a phone call for later and "take back" because you "got in over your head and he is so so pretty"
.
We this boy got his name SB, as in "Snorty Boy" - or, okay, not boy. Think of a cowboy cuss synonym of the word boy. Every day you approach this guy, he will go to the corner and snort at you like the wolf trying to blow down the little piggies house.... (read more) When they are 15.2 and weigh 1300 lbs, he may just be able to huff, and puff, until he blows my little house down.
.
This guy is absolutely gorgeous. Like, headturning, backbreaking, stick a ring on it and buy it a house with a white picket fence kinda stunning. The "I want it but I know I shouldn't have" it type gorgeous, because anything in life this pretty will come with an agenda. God only gives everyone 100%, and some of us have more of one thing than another.
.
We have had this guy for months. Actually, I kept him as my interview horse when hiring my recent trainer, because I said "he will call a bluff on you, but if you've got the confidence, he will prove you've got the talent and not hurt anyone." He served his purpose, and did just that. He got me a new guy in the barn!
.
He has been trail ridden. He has seen cattle. He has been ridden in the arena and will break beautifully at the poll when asked. He is surprisingly athletic for his size, and has a big, animated, swinging trot. He does not quite know how to lope yet.
.
He lacks ALOT of confidence. We have taken months desensitizing him, and he will look at the tarp, the flag, and the rope. He has pulled back, and never broken a thing. He stands like a gentleman to be saddled now, and hasn't done it in some time. He DOES have a flight instinct, and yes, twice on us he has proven that he is going to take ALOT of time to come and be the horse to use. That is time I personally am not going to give him. He WANTS to be good. He is NOT a chronic bronc, but yes he HAS bucked before.
.
He would never hurt a person who is knowledgable, but much like anything in life, ignorance can lead to injury. And yes, I too, have let the pretty things in my life hurt me when I am blinded. This guy is a high 5 digit horse if you gave him all the working parts out of the pretty shell.
.
For this reason - CALL. TEXT. ASK QUESTIONS. Do NOT buy this guy only to not understand what you are taking home. Because this is one I will say "sorry, I gave the whole story" - and mean it.
