Scarlett of blue mnt bov
Scarlett is a 8 year old, 13.3 hand haflinger built like a tank. Because of her roundness I have had riders as tall as 5’10” on her and they do not look too big. She is not for beginners or small kids and would prefer one or two people of her own. She has had advanced beginners ride her but she will take advantage if they are not strong enough to shut her down.
She was bought unbroke in August and the plan was for her to become part of the lesson program.... (read more) She is much too smart for this and needs lots of mental stimulation of different activities rather then just plain, boring work (her words, not mine). I want to do right by her and not force her to have a bunch of different riders if that is not what she wants.
She would be fantastic for an intermediate to advanced rider who knows how to control their seat and leg. She is sensitive to the seat and will go from canter to halt with no reins when she is use to your seat. She wants someone who doesn't want to do the same thing day in and out. She does much better doing dressage one day, western gaming the next, jumping the next or trail riding. She does love the constant change of the trails and would be the perfect endurance horse. She never gets tired.
She is a very forward ride and needs reminders to slow down for dressage and jumping, but has the speed for gymkhana.
She went to her first jumper show last weekend and excelled taking all the inside turns and making it seem easy. And then killed it at the gymkhana this past weekend. Her versatility is phenomenal!
She has a lot of personality and you will always know where you stand with her. She needs someone who will take a joke but not let her push boundaries. She can be extremely sweet and loving but also pushy if allowed. She is one of the barn favorites with not only her personality but talent but will not sell to a lesson program as that is not what she wants.
She loads, stands for bathing, and is up to date on feet, teeth and shots/Coggins. She has boots for rocky ground that will go with her. She has been out with a group of mares, geldings and weanlings where she is the boss. She absolutely loves the babies and will take them under her wing while still keeping them in line with soft reminders. She is currently alone in a dry lot as the rest are on pasture and she cannot be on pasture. We have tried a grazing muzzle but she's excellent at getting it off and we are trying to keep her weight down.
She is located in winchendon ma. Please message me with other questions.
