Carat is a a sweet Kentucky bred Thoroughbred Mare. Her registered name is Forty Six Carats. She is 8 years old and 17.1 hands tall. She is very friendly and easy going horse for almost anyone to ride. She rides great in the arena and on the trails and does not spook, She is good around traffic, barking dogs, motorcycles and anything else that may come up on the trail. She is gentle and willing and would do well as a riding lesson horse, hunter jumper, dressage, or could be taken in any other direction.... (read more) She is barefoot, she trailers with ease, she rides, ties, and has good ground manners with no bad habits. She is up to date on all her shots, wormer, and feet trimming. She has lots of various training including all natural horsemanship training methods.

Since 2005 Fahnestock Ranch has continued to place an ever growing amount of unwanted horses into loving forever homes. With your support and help we have continued this mission to help more horses and people in need. In order to help fund the ever increasing costs of the care for these animals we also offer various equine activities at your home, your horses place of residence, or other pre planned locations throughout Southern CA.... All donations and funds go directly back into our successful rescuing, training, and rehabilitating, unwanted, starving and neglected horses and re-homing them with happy families. In 2014 we incorporated and have been recognized as a charitable organization, receiving our 501(c)(3) status. We are 100% volunteer organization and are constantly looking for like minded individuals that are willing to give back, and donate their valuable time alongside us to help in this growing need. We have enjoyed this charity work so much and know that it touches everyone involved with volunteering as well as the recipients of our hard work. Working together side-by-side, special needs person, horse, and volunteer, create a strong united bond which stimulates, and creates a learning, and physically rewarding environment like no other and is the ultimate source of therapy for so many ailments in children and adults.
