"Jitterbug" is one of the coolest horses I’ve had the pleasure of being around and riding. She turned four years old this year but has an old soul and consequently takes everything you put in front of her in stride with a level head and a calm attitude. With her shiny buckskin tobiano coat and one blue eye and one brown eye, she’s a real eye-catcher. She’s got a strong neck, back and hip, and straight legs.
She is extremely friendly and will be the first one to greet you at the gate.... (read more) She is very polite on the ground and has no vices; she will stand tied, stand for the farrier, bathe, saddle, and load in the trailer. She is quiet but quick-footed, incredibly smart, and really aims to please in whatever you ask of her. She is gentle but athletic and as honest as they come.
Jitterbug has spent quite some time in the arena and will walk, trot, canter, side pass, change leads, back up, and is starting to spin and stop very nicely. She is a very fast learner and picks up whatever you are asking for in a hurry. She has been on several obstacle courses and has done outstanding; she'd make an excellent obstacle horse. She has been over bridges, teeter-totters, jumps, water boxes, etc., and will trot or even lope over them if you ask. She has also tracked and roped the roping dummy and will drag that.
She has also been outside on the trail and on the ranch quite a bit and does great alone or with other horses. She is sure-footed no matter the terrain and moves out at a nice pace. She maintains the same speed regardless of if she is facing or moving away from the barn. She has helped gather cows a number of times and will certainly watch a cow. At the moment we are working with her on the flag and tracking cattle in the arena and she is really taking to that.
Jitterbug is gentle, sweet, and easygoing enough to be a fantastic horse for an advanced beginner who wants to trail ride, do obstacle courses, has aspirations of showing in ranch riding, ranch trail, or work a cow, but she's also athletic and fancy enough for a rider who is looking for a horse that can take them to the next level in whichever discipline they choose. With her confident personality and willingness to learn and please, Jitterbug takes to learning new things very quickly and will make you an amazing partner.
