Is my dream horse the same as yours?

Tall, very dark bay with thick mane and tail, cute personality, talented and ready to show off!

This was that "been-there-done-that horse I deserve as an adult" after a lifetime of starting all my own horses.... (read more) He's a deep thinker, stellar mover and has been a fantastic teacher in furthering my training and riding skills.

He would do best in a situation where he has his own loving human outside -and- inside the show ring! Previous owner competed with him since 2015 and she says he has the potential for upper levels. I figured I'd give him a new life outside of showing. Though I am not showing, his heart still seems to be "in-it".

Transparent personal info: Just months after he came to me in mid-2021 I got hit with major health challenges requiring priority and will be ongoing indefinitely, forcing us to take significant breaks along the way. This listing otherwise would never exist.

He's been sound for me and for his prior owner who when competing treated for mild Osteoarthritis in left forelimb. I haven't had to treat with my light riding and haven't seen any indication of discomfort.

Polite for grooming, tacking, lunging, farrier, bathing, mounting... Kind around other horses and turned out in group. Has been full-shod w/pads and front-shod with no issues. No vices or injuries. Generally even in temperament and needs a person who is sensitive to his desire to please without stress, punishment or pressure. I'm putting him as a 5 because he's not a hop on once a week kinda guy.

Goes in a loose-ring or double-bridle equally well. Soft, forward and uphill. Very responsive to leg, goes with or without a spur (and I school him comfortably in a bareback pad sometimes). Likes to stay on the flat, and surprisingly with how social he is he doesn't seem to enjoy trail riding much but will tolerate it and is great in a group.

Loves muzzle-smooches, hangin' out with his human, grooming time (he'll groom you too), eating, getting dirty, playing with his buddies and making dinosaur-noises at them! The things outside of riding and showing are important as he's been at the most loving of homes with me and his previous human and we'd both like this to continue.
