We bought Scotch back in 2022 to be a part of our trail herd that gives rides to beginners. We were told when we purchased her that she had rodeo experience as well as 4H experience. Unfortunately for our needs she is more go than whoa, is sensitive (prefers light cues), and does best with a single rider (instead of different riders all the time).... Scotch is a fantastic little mare who loves to work and is very willing to please. She is also incredibly intelligent. Scotch takes a while to build trust and bond, but after she does she will try her best to do what you ask. She’s a fantastic trail mount, rides out solo, honestly we think she prefers to ride this way, but she will also ride out with others. Scotch also is willing to put in the work in the arena and could make a good fun show prospect for the right person. NOT A MEAN BONE IN HER BODY and is low on the pecking order. She can get frustrated when she’s not sure of what you’re asking of her, which is why she would do best with a single owner who is not a beginner. Currently she is living with 3 other mares. Scotch gets 2lbs of grain per day and full access to grass pasture with 24/7 access to grass hay in winter.
