Triton is the definition of sweetheart. Loving four year old gelding, Triton will follow you around begging for attention if you let him. Enough curiosity that if the hose is removed from the water trough when filling you can bet he was involved, but not intentionally naughty in anything he does. Triton wants to please and will do whatever you ask of him once he understands the request. Triton's pedigree has lines to Enzo (babies have excellent minds), Magnum Psyche, and Padrons Psyche.... Triton stands for farrier, worming, and shots. I have not attempted to blanket him, however he is chill with most everything so I don't imagine it would be hard to convince him. Triton has been introduced to clippers and while a little unsure, he did stand quietly and allow me to trim his bridle path. Triton can be caught while running loose out in pasture with the herd and is lower in the herd hierarchy. Triton gets along with all horses on property. Triton has been bathed and loves being groomed. His ground manners are good enough I have had beginner youths with little to no experience with horses handle his grooming. With his personality I expect Triton will make an exceptional lesson, junior, or ammy horse with proper training.
Triton is not for a beginner at this time as he is very green. He does lunge both directions under tack with side reins and has his basic groundwork such as yielding hind quarters and shoulder and backing down. Triton is under saddle walk/trot at this time. He is doing well with this and has been figuring out good submission to turning, backing, and stopping. Triton is willing to learn and should progress rapidly in a regular training program.
Triton is conformationally sway back. He has no soundness issues at this time from it and has been brought along under saddle with consideration to this. Time has been taken to find the proper saddle pads, etc for his comfort as well as to keep him as relaxed and working through the back as much as possible in this early stage. Consultation has been had with my vet who indicated no concerns for his soundness at this point and an optimistic outlook for his health/soundness as long as he is trained to use his back properly.
Triton has nice movement and shows the versatility to show in western, sporthorse, dressage, and hunter under saddle. Video available upon request. Coggins and Health pulled on him 4/26/2023. Will continue training and begin his showing debut. Price will increase with training and show experience.
